  13. Take 20 Red chilli
  14. Make ready 1/2 cup Toovar dal
  15. Make ready 1/4 cup Bengal gram
  16. Get 3 tbsp Black pepper
  17. Make ready 1 tbsp Jeera
  18. Take 1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  19. Take 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  20. Prepare 2 tbsp Curry leaves
  21. Get To Temper:
  22. Take 2 tbsp Gingelly oi
  23. Make ready 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  24. Prepare 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  25. Take 2 no Red chilies
  26. Get 5 Garlic chopped
  27. Take 1 tbsp Channa dal
  28. Prepare 2 tsp Peanuts
  29. Prepare 1 tsp Urad dal
  30. Take pinch Hing

  4. Add manathakkali vathal and roast for couple of minutes in low flame. Now add vathakuzhambu powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, grated ginger and chopped tomato. Saute for 5 minutes in low flame.
  5. Now add tamarind water and salt. Cover and cook in medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes until oil separates from the gravy. Stir occasionally.
  6. Now add jaggery and cook for another 2 minutes. Add ghee and adjust the salt.
  7. Switch off the flame and serve hot with rice, papad..
